The billing page is where you control which features your subscription includes, manage your payment method, and review every invoice. It is split into three tabs that you can move between as needed.

Getting started

Navigate to Settings > Billing from the sidebar. The page opens on the Your plan tab by default.

How it works

Off The Couch uses usage-based billing rather than fixed plan tiers. Every feature has its own pricing, a minimum monthly price, a per-unit price, and a current-month usage counter, and you can toggle features on or off depending on what your business needs that month. Your invoice for the billing cycle is the sum of every active feature's usage cost, with the minimum price as a floor.

Each tab has a single purpose:

Step-by-step guide

Toggle a feature on or off

  1. Open Settings > Billing and stay on the Your plan tab
  2. The Billing period header shows the month and year of the current cycle
  3. The table lists every billable feature with its Feature name, Minimum price, Price per unit, Enabled toggle, Current usage, and Current cost
  4. Use the Enabled switch to turn a feature on or off
  5. Click Update at the bottom to save your changes
  6. Your Total due at the bottom of the table reflects the sum of every active feature

Some features are bundled with a parent feature and show a note clarifying that. Toggling the parent on or off controls the bundle.

Add or update your billing information

Open the Billing information tab. If no card is on file yet, click Add billing information; if a card already exists, click Edit billing information. Fill in the Add a new credit card form:

Click Save billing information. The card on file is what we charge each billing cycle. We never store your full card number, only the last four digits, which appear in the Payment method card on this tab.

Review past invoices

Open the Invoices tab. The table shows every invoice with the following columns:

Use the per-page selector (5, 10, 25, or 50) at the top right to change rows per page; use pagination at the bottom to move between pages. If no invoices exist yet, you'll see "No invoices exist yet." in place of the table.

Download an invoice as a PDF

  1. Open the Invoices tab
  2. Find the invoice you want
  3. Click the Download invoice icon in the Actions column
  4. The PDF downloads with:
  • The Off The Couch logo and your company info in the header
  • A Billed To section with your billing email and address
  • Date issued, Date due, and Invoice number
  • A line-item table of every billable feature with its price
  • Totals: Total, Discount (if any), Amount paid, and Amount due

Good to know

  • Billing is usage-based, not tier-based. Toggle exactly the features you need that month and pay for exactly that usage.
  • The minimum price on a feature is a floor. Even if you use less than the minimum's worth, you'll be charged the minimum to keep the feature active.
  • Card details are processed by the Square Web SDK so we never see or store your full card number.
  • Invoices are generated automatically at the end of each billing cycle. You don't need to take any action to receive one.
  • The country you pick on your billing address determines the label of the City, State / Province, and Zip / Postal code fields.
  • Bundled features show a note explaining the bundle. Disable the parent feature to disable the bundle.
  • The Payment failed status appears if a charge was attempted but the card was declined. Update your card on the Billing information tab to retry on the next cycle.

FAQ

Q: Can I switch to a fixed monthly plan instead of usage-based?

A: The platform uses usage-based billing exclusively. Each feature has its own minimum and per-unit pricing, and you only pay for what you actively use. Toggle features off whenever you don't need them.

Q: What happens if I disable a feature mid-cycle?

A: The feature stops being available immediately. Your invoice for the cycle will reflect partial usage, plus the minimum price if it has one.

Q: I changed cards. Will my last invoice be charged on the old card or the new one?

A: New cards become effective immediately. The next billing cycle will charge the new card. If a charge fails on the old card, retry by updating the card on file in the Billing information tab.

Q: How do I download multiple invoices at once?

A: The PDF download is per-invoice. Open each invoice in turn and click the Download invoice icon. A bulk download isn't currently available.

Q: I can see the page but the toggle is greyed out. Why?

A: The Billing permission is required to change subscription settings. Ask an admin to grant the permission in Settings > User management.
