Shared Resources

Using Shared Resources for Multiple Games

When two different games or experiences use the same physical space, you can configure the system so that booking one will automatically block the other, even if they run for different lengths of time.

This is useful when:

  • Two or more experiences share the same space, but only one or the other can be offered at a time.
  • You need to prevent both from being booked simultaneously.

How to Link Multiple Games to the Same Resource

1. Enable Resource Association in Each Game

For each game that uses the shared space:

  1. Go to Games > Game Settings.
  2. Under Actions on the right, click the three dots, then Edit game for the respective game.
  3. Navigate to Bookings and resources.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and enable Block select overlapping games when a booking is made.
  5. Select the respective experiences and have them associated to each other, it should look similar to Fig. 1 above.

This tells the system: “If Game A books this space, Game B is automatically unavailable, and vice versa.”

2. Set Up a Resource Slot That Covers All Time Windows

Because the two activities overlap, you must create a resource slot that covers the required time spans for both.

  • Configure the party room’s resource availability to span the full operating hours.
  • Ensure the resource slot is long enough to accommodate both the Game A and Game B.

This ensures the system has a consistent availability window to apply blocking rules across both experiences.

Result

When configured this way:

  • Booking the party room blocks the holiday game for the full duration of the party room rental.
  • Booking the holiday game blocks the party room for the holiday game’s run time.
  • The system automatically handles overlaps — no manual schedule micromanagement required.
